1967 Gibson ES-355SVT

Cherry, VG+, a delightfully faded Cherry finish over a flamed maple body. You’ll pay extra for a watermelon finish on new Gibsons these days. It’s rather fetching with naturally ambered binding and gold hardware. Plus the unusually flamed maple. Sexy indeed.
This was owned by Nashville session player Bruce Watkins who passed away earlier this year. He played with many folks including Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson, Alabama and others.
This guitar used to have a maestro vibrato but it was changed to a Bigsby many years ago. Good choice as it stays in tune better. The electronics are original with Patent Sticker humbuckers. It’s nice sounding with great clarity. These pickups have been on many records. Gibsons from this era have a 1 9/16” nut width and a great rounded feel. The side dots and inlays make reading the fretboard easy.
Check the photos to see the condition. It shows quite a bit of finish checking on the back of the neck and body. Also considerable fading of the cherry finish and yellowing of the binding for excellent eye candy. Comes with a 70’s blue lined hard shell case. Consigned.
