1963 Fender Tweed Champ
$4,200.00In stock
Model 5F1 the last and maybe best year for the iconic tweed Champ. Has the original Sylvania 6V6 power tube and RCA 5Y3 rectifier along with the original 8” Alnico speaker made in the 40th week of 1962 (Oct. 62). Tube chart stamped MC for March of ’63. Has a nice clean control panel and very clean tweed covering and original leather handle with that thick baseball stitching. We ran this amp through the shop but left the two prong cord for those of you collectors that want dead on original. Wanna hear one? We made a video of the amp or look up Claptons’ solo on Bell Bottom Blues. This last year Fender used the last of their tweed on the Champs. Then made the last panel top side Champs in black tolex. An odd year as Fender made black Tolex Twins, White Tolex tremoluxes and tweed champs. It seems Fender just never threw stuff away but used it up until gone. A nice clean example.
