1961 Fender Deluxe-Amp
$4,995.00In stock
Brown tolex with wheat grille, brown panel, brown knobs, “Fender Elect. Inst. Co.”, first year of production for the brown Deluxe, 6G3 circuit per the tube chart, pretty clean and all-original save for added three-prong mains cable and missing footswitch. Early-ish production with a low serial number and the power transformer is a Triad 8160. Original speaker, in this case a Jensen, dated the 50th week of 1961. Two channels, normal on the left and bright on the right, each with volume and tone controls, and then speed and intensity controls for the bias-vary tremolo. This is not the harmonic vibrato of the bigger brown and blonde amps, but it’s not the optical tremolo of the later amps, and is quite wonderful in its own right. One 7025 and two 12AX7 in the preamp, a pair of 6V6s producing 20 watts, and a GZ34 rectifier. A fantastic-sounding small Fender that still has headroom and grunt, classic “brownface” tone, a great amp for small clubs or the studio. Handwired in Fullerton, California, USA.
