Round neck, the 14 fret style O has been more popular than the earlier 12 fret model ever since the 1985 Dire Straits Brothers in Arms record that featured a beat up 14 fret style O on the cover. Mark Knopfler had a huge influence.

This is a good example that sounds great and has a new neck installed by the factory many years ago. The old neck is also included and could be fixed but suffers from a major crack and clumsy repair. The resonator cone is replaced too. The old one is also included. These brass bodied Nationals have a lot of volume and sustain and are nickel plated and etched. The action is perfect for a player wanting to use a slide for singing sustain. Note the original chicken foot nickel cover plate.

The neck has some finish flaking and wear but is a high quality maple neck with bound ivoroid ebony fingerboard.Has a big neck with a nice vintage V profile. It has a sunburst finish on the back of the neck and front and back of headstock. The frets are in great shape. The tone is fantastic and loud. It’s really loud. Don’t put your ear up to it or it will give you tinnitus.

The original serial number was stamped onto the new neck. The old neck and resonator will have to ship in a separate box. These 14 frets don’t come up often. Comes with a newer hard case.
