Replica Rickenbacker ’64 4001S Style Left Handed
$4,995.00In stock
Natural, we are told this was made by a builder in Canada. Whoever made this had great skill. The S in 4001 is for special order having no binding and dot inlays. This has the neck through construction made of high grade flamed maple with Walnut headstock wings. It’s a very comfortable neck with the rounded bottom edge and perfect cresting wave. The gold plastic parts would be earlier than ’64 but they look great. Paul McCartney used his 4001S on Rubber Soul and Seargant Peppers. He stripped the finish off of his ’64 in ’68. This has all Rickenbacker parts and sounds great. Note the aged lacquer finish has slightly yellowed and looks stunning.
Rickenbacker no longer makes left handed guitars or basses. But when they did, they made the basses with a left handed headstock. This one is more like Pauls with a right handed headstock. A very difficult bass to get made in todays market and that makes this extremely rare. We love Rickanbackers. Comes with a generic 70’s hard shell case.
