New Rickenbacker 4003S

In stock

Mapleglo, great looking finish, like a 4003 but with unbound rosewood fretboard, dot inlays, two 4003 pickups, two volume and two tone controls, vintage tone switch, and mono jack, a great bass with the McCartney 60’s 4003S tone and features, comes with a new hard case.

If you’ve seen the Beatles “Get Back” you’ll see Paul’s Rickenbacker 4001 bass. It was originally Fireglo. Paul was offered a left-handed 4001 in 1964 (only 2 were made). He used it on “Paperback writer” and “Penny Lane” and then he then painted it for “Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”. Later Paul stripped his Ricky bass to natural… and by the way, many other musicians also stripped the finish off their guitars and thats why vintage guitars with original finishes are worth more today. These 4003S models are simpler, without the extra binding and sporting dot inlays for a more graceful design. They are unofficial reissues…and better for you, maybe, as they are less money too.
