New Collings MT Mandola

$4,775.00

Out of stock

With optional gloss top and Waverly tuners (a $600 option). We waited and waited for this. The MT is the least expensive of the Collings mandolin family. A mandola (like a viola) is tuned lower (a fifth below, CDGA) and it also gives you a bit more room for your fingers. The MT is still heirloom quality and has superior tone with a premium carved Adirondack spruce top, aged figured maple, and ebony fingerboard and bridge all wrapped in a thin nitro lacquer finish. The dynamics, sustain, and responsiveness will surprise you. This is no budget instrument. Nut is 1 & 5/16” (mandolins are typically 1 & 1/8”), 15.9” scale length, and a compound radius that runs from 7” to 15” at the upper frets. That low C tuning really adds and excites the player’s palette, and he gloss top (a $200 option) is not only pretty but also might protect better. The Waverly tuners are simply the best, most stable and easy-to-use tuners in the world. An exciting instrument we’re proud to offer. Comes in deluxe hard case, of course. Serial number #A4574.
