2022 Martin Custom 000-42 Tasmanian Blackwood

In excellent condition. Custom-ordered by us back in 2022, this 12-fret 000-bodied acoustic features stunning flamed solid Tasmanian blackwood for its top, back, and sides, scalloped Sitka spruce X-bracing, a genuine mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard sporting Style 45 snowflake inlays, and the C.F. Martin logo inlaid in abalone onto the flamed Tasmanian blackwood headplate. Scale length is 24.9” with a 1 & 3/4” nut, string spacing at the bridge is 2 & 5/32”, and the neck profile is Martin’s Modified Low Oval with the High Performance Taper. Premium Style 42 throughout for the binding, rosette, etc. So, Tasmanian blackwood is a splendid tonewood, with an appearance and acoustic qualities not dissimilar to Hawaiian koa, a material which Martin has had extensive experience with over the past century-plus. Very articulate and detailed, and while rewarding to strum, excels particularly for fingerstyle. Overall a remarkable guitar for its rich and versatile tone and also for its lovely appearance. Comes in its factory Geib-style deluxe hard case, made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, USA.
