1998 Bogner Cosma Shiva 84

Here we have an extremely rare Bogner Cosma Shiva 84 1×12″ combo, made in April of 1998. Apparently the first approximately 100 Shivas were labelled “Cosma Shiva,” and there were a handful including this one made with EL84s instead of the more common EL34s or 6L6s. This one is in great shape, has Bogner’s iconic serial sign, in this case “-V*”, the phrase “In memory of Rachel.” printed on the back panel, and its original two-button footswitch, works perfectly and sounds great. The cabinetry is so tight and well-fitted we were unable to remove the back panel in which the speaker is fully sealed without special tools, but it’s almost certainly a British-made Celestion, and sounds like a Vintage 30, suitable for an amp of this wattage. Speaking of which,  this model produces about 15-20 watts, obviously less volume compared to the standard EL34/6L6-powered Shivas, easier breakup and more friendly to studios and small stages but still with tremendous body, incredible bass response, and of course the core Shiva functionality of seamless channel switching with incredible cleans, great British-style overdrive crunch, and real spring reverb.
