1987 Martin D-16M

Natural, early vintage reissue in excellent condition. These are almost a D-18V without a modified V neck profile. First, no, this is not the D-16 you might think of. These were the first Martin guitars to have adjustable truss rods. From 1830’s to 1986 Martin guitars had truss rods, just not adjustable. Great guitar trivia for you.

Martin was under pressure to make vintage spec guitars. They came up with this model with a dovetail neck joint (the other D-16’s were bolt on). This also has a small maple bridge plate, forward shifted X bracing and a low profile neck with a 1 11/16” nut width.

The tone is surprisingly loud and full. You D-18 fans will like this. Plus it is just out of the shop with a fresh neck reset. There is a plugged strap button hole on the heel. Comes with the original paperwork in the original hard case. It’s a sleeper used/vintage Martin.
