Maple top on Honduran mahogany body in Wine Red, a fair amount of honest wear but no breaks, original 1981-dated “patent stamp” humbucker in neck, and another possibly-original 1979-dated one in the bridge, a mixture of 1980 and 1981 CTS pots under that diamond-shaped stamped shield, professionally refretted, changed strap buttons, and the bridge and posts have been replaced (got a little stretchy) but they’re included in the clean brown-lined third generation Protector case with all latches intact and working, otherwise all-original. Three-piece maple neck with a fantastic profile – slightly slender in terms of depth but with that great 1 & 11/16” nut width, “Les Paul Custom” truss rod cover, bound ebony fingerboard with pearl blocks and those iconic Custom headstock appointments, and a fully-functional set of those incredibly cool and remarkably practical Schaller flip-out crank tuners. A fine example of a late Norlin-era Custom, attractively-yellowed speed knobs, volute and “Made in USA” stamp but the sandwich body was long gone by this time, plays great, sounds great, terrific looks. Made in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
