Natural, EX++. One of Gibson’s most enduring models. In the 40’s and 50’s these were the working man’s guitar as playing jazz standards was the way to pay rent.
They dropped the single pickup in 1971. The natural finish still cost a little more. We’re happy to see the faux binding in the sound hole which was a hold over from the 50’s white paint in the sound hole on natural guitars. Classy.
This guitar was treated gently and used flatwound strings so there is no fret wear. Shows no finish wear just a little sinking of the real lacquer finish. Has a three piece maple neck with the original Klusons, and rosewood fretboard of course. Otherwise, shows no cracks, finish checking or issues. The nut has been replaced and the handle on the original case is also replaced. A great sounding guitar with its original patent stamp pickups. The tone is smooth yet with great mid range articulation.
