1968 Fender Telecaster Bass
$20,000.00In stock
Pink Paisley, nitro lacquer finish, yes, lacquer finish yet no real neck wear. The original finish is also in remarkable condition. These
Slab bodied Tele basses were Fender’s first reissue with old style headstock, fat neck and single coil pickup. Then they did something shall we say… Groovy. Somebody at Fender must have gone to the Monterey Pop Festival during 1967’s summer of love. “Hey man, I’ve got a crazy idea…I know a guy in Germany who makes flower power paisley wall paper. Let’s show how hip CBS can be!”
Well then, here you have it. A first year Paisley Telecaster bass that’s been really well cared for. It’s also the lightest Tele bass we can remember at 8.75 pounds.
There are small areas of touch up but the finish is original. The pots date to ’67. The pickup and electronics are original. Note the original covers and finger rest. A rare opportunity to own an original Paisley in this shape. Comes with the original hard case. Consigned.
