1956 Gibson LG-3
$4,500.00In stock
Natural, EX-, the LG-3 was the professional model above the LG-2 Gibson used higher grade wood for natural finished guitars and the LG-3 had extra trim with three layers of binding.
’56 is a transitional year as they went to the large pickguard and then bigger braces. This has the large pickguard but has skinny braces. The better to hear you with my dear. So, the ’56 and earlier Gibsons were louder and sustained more than the ones made in the late 50’s or 1960’s. Looks like a newer Brazilian Rosewood bridge on this. The neck is a very comfortable medium large with a slight V. It shows light finish checking all over the guitar. There is a well done repaired center seam crack with some overspray over the repaired area. It’s otherwise very clean, not even a strap button or pickup added. The tunere are kluson three on a strip repros with nickel buttons. Its a really nice guitar that sounds great. Our shop looked it over and its in great condition. The action is low and there is plenty of saddle height. Comes with the original soft shell case. A charming guitar.
