Black, original finish, recent neck reset. There is magic in guitars made during the great depression. We really feel these are undervalued when solid body guitars made 30 years later are 3 to 10 times the price of these beautiful guitars. Maybe not as sexy but pre-war Gibsons might be the ones you’d play more. There we said it.

This is the first year of issue made early in the great depression. Gibson only made pro quality instruments. These were made as an affordable model for pros to play, listing at $27.50. Hamburger was 12 cents a pound and rent was $100 a month. So still one of the most coveted and copied guitars in the world.

This was owned by our buddy Teddy Morgan. Teddy is a songwriter, engineer, and producer out of Nashville who works with Kevin Costner’s band Modern West, among others. He knows tone.

This is an amazing sounding guitar with the flame guard, no cracks and no strap button added. You will see the scratch and ding on the lower front bout. There are a few dings and scratches but very clean for a 95 year old. Has a big V shape neck, mahogany body, spruce top, Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge (of course) and incredible volume for it’s size.

Plus the recent neck reset gives it great action and a tall saddle. Comes with a modern hard shell case.
