Natural, stamped C.F. Martin New York on the neck block. In very good condition with extensive repairs done so you can play this tomorrow. The Style 27 was a rather fancy yet popular small-bodied Martin. The Style 28 was less fancy but cost a little more money because it was always in the bigger Style O body. Has ivory binding and fingerboard, pearl rosette and a Cedar neck. Also has a book-matched Brazilian Rosewood back and sides with zipper back strip that’s delicate but also quite elaborate. It is very lightweight and like most Martins of this era loud too. It is Rather amazing. Note the original ivory bridge pins are each made by hand and you’ll want to know which was made for the specific string. So the high E bridge pin wont work for the the low E string. Has the original tuners with replaced buttons that work well. The repairs done include: a reset neck so it now has a tall saddle and easy action. Replaced binding at the bottom edge of the fingerboard, done in plastic. Repaired thumbprint size hole in the bass side of the rosewood where the body meets the heel. Flat top and bridge plate. It came to us with a hump in the top from steel strings. The original bridge plate is repaired. Repaired and cleated top cracks coming off the G string and on the treble side. Repaired crack under the bridge. All in all over $2000 and over five months of repairs done so you don’t have to. Comes with a new Martin Geib Style O size case. We are proud to offer this at $8500. These were made from 1850-1907 and only 8 were shipped between 1898 and 1907. So the actual date of this is unknown.
