1953 Gibson BR-9 Lap Steel

$550.00

Beige finish, made from aged old growth mahogany Has the original P-90 pickup. There are no serial numbers on these and we opted not to check the pots. But from about 1947 to mid 1951 the pickup had non adjustable pickups. And the ’55 era had a different finish. Gibson stopped making them aound 1960.

These are the perfect pro grade first lap steel. It’s strung with .12 gauge flatwound strings for that ultimate Hank Williams tone. It’s tuned to C6 so anyone can play it.

The pickup reads 8.04K and has a nice early 50’s tone with a bit less output. The tuners are changed to nickel Klusons. A nice piece of American Musical Instrument history. Comes with the original hard case.
