1969 Fender Stratocaster
$16,500.00In stock
Sunburst, in excellent condition. We see many more pre-CBS Strats than Hendrix era Strat. We are fond of these because of the tone of the pickups. Listen to Hendrix’s clean tone on Little Wing with that kinda hollow, woody articulation. Plus the necks are very round and comfy to play. The neck depth is .857” at the first and .911” at the 12th fret. It weighs a nice light 7 pounds and 12 ounces. So it’s nice and light on the shoulder.
This guitar has all original 1966 pots. Yes, Fender bought a big lot of pots in 1966 that lasted years. Has the original grey bobbin staggered pole pickups. The three way switch looks newer and has ’69 Strat written in marker, (you can’t fool us) likely from someone’s parts drawer and added later. Kinda good news because adding a five way switch is not a big deal. The frets are original and show some wear. It’s still very useable. The finish has some red faded in the sunburst but it is remarkably clean. Shows a few dings but no buckle rash or abuse. The bridge, saddles, plate and plastic are all original. The neck is dated June ’69, just before Woodstock. The case is original too. You’ll love it.
