Circa 1965 Fender Band-Master 2×12″ cabinet

So, there’s a bit of a story here but as amp stories go, kind of an interesting one. This is a blackface-era Band-Master 2×12” cabinet, original tolex, handle, tilt-back legs, sphinx glides, feet, etc., grille is in good condition, most of the tolex is as well, but there’s a large bare patch on the bottom. However, a previous owner removed the thumbscrew bushings, rather expertly plugged and covered the holes (see the photos), and moved them closer to the center of the cabinet so as to accommodate a Bassman head. And then bad news first: the speakers have been replaced. The good news? They’re a lovely matched pair of 15-ohm 1982 Celestion G12-65s that presumably came out of a JMP or JCM800 Model 4104 or perhaps a 4×12” cabinet. In any case, an amazing-sounding set of pretty desirable British-made Celestions. 8 ohms, 130 watts RMS power handling, looks and sounds incredible. Made in Fullerton, California, USA. And Ipswich, Suffolk, England. Local pickup only.
