1981 G&L F-100 Series I

Another unusual guitar from the fertile mind of Leo Fender. This is a very early (neck date of October, 1981) F-100 Series I in black, complete with all the cool early G&L features – anodized and powder-coated hardware, 3-bolt neck with micro-tilt, “Magnetic Field Design” humbucking pickups with phase and coil tap switches, and so forth. Essentially a Music Man Sabre in G&L form, this one is in black with a maple fingerboard and a tremolo bridge. Not a petite flower at a little over 9 pounds, it still plays and sounds great. No cracks or breaks, overall fairly clean and all-original save for missing trem arm and comes in a non-original gig bag. Definitely a neat piece and you’ll probably be the only one at the gig sporting one.
