Vintage 1960 Fender Champ

Clean 5F1 tweed Champ, 5 or so watts from a single 6V6, 1×8″ loudspeaker, solid pine cabinet, one knob – a volume control that doubles as an on-off switch. One of the more-recorded amps in rock history, plug in a Tele, a Strat, a Junior, or whatever, and you’ll see why. Crunchy and crisp and rich, and despite being 58 years old very reliable due to a well-engineered circuit handwired with premium components (in Fullerton, California, naturally). If like most of us you can’t afford a high-power tweed Twin, one of these is hardly “settling”.
