To quote Collings, this model is “thin, light, and exquisite” and they aren’t kidding. Bound solid carved European spruce top on a bound Honduran mahogany body with a Honduran mahogany neck, ebony bridge, tailpiece, truss rod cover, and peghead veneer. Also, speaking of bound ebony – the pickguard, to which is affixed a floating Lollar Johnny Smith, which just sounds incredible on this guitar, controlled by thumbwheels under the guard. Parallel bracing under the top. Collings-logo nickel Gotoh tuners. The neck? 25.5” scale length, 12” radius, 1 & 11/16” nut width, very comfortable with a “C” profile, 1.730” wide and .865” deep at the first fret, 1.933” wide and .967” deep at the ninth.
