Early ’50s Marvel amp

Our best guess is that this is a 1953 or 1954 “Marvel” amp based on cosmetics including the color scheme and truncated-triangle speaker grille. 6SL7 octal-base preamp tube, 6” alnico Best speaker dated to 1951 and Sampson Electric Products Co, (of Clinton, North Carolina, don’t you know) transformer. A cute little all-tube (6V6 output and 5Y3 rectifier) student amp that’s nice and light and has great mid-century looks.
