2021 Martin Custom D-40

Natural, a just in used Willie’s custom shop order guitar with an added Fishman Matrix Infinity Mic blend pickup. In good shape with some pick scratches on and around the pickguard. This beauty features a Premium Adirondack Spruce top with VTS, Guatemalan Rosewood back and sides, abalone pearl style 45 rosette, scalloped Adirondack Spruce top braces, bound ebony fingerboard with classic hexagon inlays, 1 11/16” at the nut, modified low oval neck profile, 2 1/8” bridge spacing, Gold Schaller tuners with butterbean knobs, CF Martin block in abalone pearl tops it off. As most guitars these days are a wider 1 3/4 nut width, we ordered this traditional nut width to be more like all the Martin (or Gibson) guitars you’ve loved from the 40s-50s and 1960s. The D size is not traditionally for fingerstyle but a guitar to grab the neck with more gusto and play your favorite songs. This rosewood is far cheaper than Brazilian yet gives the player that similar rare tone of a rounded deep bass where note swells like a bell and sustains like a piano. Plus its beauty is undeniable. The stiffer wider grain of Adirondack – aged with Martins VTS Vintage Tone System – gives the player more volume like an old vintage Martin at a fraction of the cost. Comes with the original Geib-style hard case.
