Limited edition. These are VTS (vintage tone system) torrefied spruce with 41-level abalone inlay and Golden Era scalloped Adirondack bracing over choice East Indian rosewood with a cedar neck. Ebony fretboard and bridge, 1 3/4″ bone nut, bone saddle and bridge pins, open-back Schaller tuners with flamed koa buttons. The ribbon marquetry on high-grade cocobolo and mahogany (they don’t put that effort into details unless it’s superb wood) is spectacular. This guitar shows the maker’s pride…the undulating curves of exotic lumber, quartersawn spruce with beautiful cross-grain. It sings with rich bottom and the top end effortlessly fills the room. The cedar neck was common on early Martins, used for its strength yet lightweight and resonant (and yes, it looks like flamed mahogany). Made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, USA, and comes in its factory deluxe hard case.
