2010 Robin Artisan

Here’s a rather rare bird. Most (not that there were ever very many) Robin Artisans were high-quality Japanese imports made in the mid-1980s, but this is a superb American-made one from 2010, when Robin brought the model back but then unfortunately ceased guitar production. A hybrid maple-topped mahogany-bodied Les Paul/SG design, it’s light (7.8 pounds), has a fantastically figured arched top in Bloodburst, a thick unbound rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays and big frets on a big, rounded mahogany neck. Rio Grande pickups in cool oval surrounds, Grover Deluxe keystone tuners, stoptail, and abalone headstock inlay. Very well-made, plays and sounds like a million bucks, and you will be the only person on your block with one, even if your block is gigantic. Made in Houston, Texas, very clean, comes in original hard case.
