2008 Gibson Custom Shop Elvis Costello Century of Progress #149 of 300

Out of stock

EX, sunburst. Modeled after Elvis’ 1930s L-C. The Century of Progress was adorned like a fancy period banjo. It’s 14 & 3/4″ wide but with a deep body made from choice flamed maple, 14 frets clear of the body. This Custom Shop model is quite rare, in this instance #149 of 300.
Mahogany neck with fancy mother-of-pearl fretboard (triple-bound) with rosewood blocks further inlaid with notched diamonds. Bound headstock with Waverly tuners.
These were originally made from 1932 to 1940 and are big collector items with the smaller body yet with extra depth for enhanced bass response. Signed by the legendary Declan McManus (you might know him as Elvis Costello, he’s had quite a storied career). It has just a few light scratches and sports the prewar skinny bridge and flamed pickguard.
A great guitar for recording with its bright crisp tone and solid mids. With original hard case.
