2004 Fender Yuri Shishkov Master Built ’54 Stratocaster

Two Tone Sunburst, EX++, a really nice collector-grade guitar Master Built for the 50th Anniversary. This plays and sounds really close to a real ’54’/’55 era Strat with a hollow, throaty and crisp tone but not an ice pick. One piece ash body, nice and light 7.5 pounds, exacting ’54 Strat pickups, bigger V neck profile, light lacquer finish with just a bit of checking that adds to its charm and vibe. Unique to the ’54 Strat this has rounded brittle plastic pickup covers. No, it’s not Bakelite but you’d be forgiven as its a similar feel and look but only made in black, brown or painted. Also has the ’54 short skirt knobs, football switch tip, round string tree and like your original ’54 the serial number is on the plastic trem arm cover on the back. What’s Masterbuilt? It’s just that. It’s built by the most experienced builder who selects the woods and oversees all aspects of his or her personal build. Yuri was born in St. Petersburg (temporarily known as Leningrad) and is one of Fender’s most respected craftsmen. Comes with the original brown hard case and coa.
