Very clean and all-original, in its original silver tolex hard case with a letter of provenance from Rickenbacker indicating that it was number 596 of 1,000 made, and was made on January 15, 1996. Cream Colorglo finish, signature model for the brilliant bassist for Yes, Chris Squire, based on his 1964 Rickenbacker RM1999 (the Rose-Morris export model of the 4001S). Neck-through maple/walnut neck with maple body wings, unbound lacquered African Vermilion (sometimes called African Padauk) fingerboard with dot inlays, and the same wood is used for the headstock wings. Other features include a pair of “toaster” pickups with individual volume and tone controls and a three-way selector switch, open-back tuners, and a lucite pickguard printed with Chris Squire’s signature. Sounds and plays great, attractive color, and associated with an incredible and much-missed musician. and very collectible. Made in Santa Ana, California, USA.
