1997 Guild Starfire II Bass owned by the legendary James “Hutch” Hutchinson

In stock

James “Hutch” Hutchinson is one of the most recorded bass players of our time, and a dear friend of Willie’s. Don’t tell him but we have lowered the price of the basses Guild USA made for him. They come with signed letters. Don’t think for a second that Guild would have made anything but the best for a guy like Hutch.

This one is in black on a double-bound hollow mahogany body, two humbucking pickups, unbound rosewood fingerboard with pearl dots, has that lovely “Chesterfield” peghead inlay, and was made in Westerly, Rhode Island.

Hutch’s legacy goes deep. He’s played with Willie Nelson, Joe Cocker, Al Green, BB King, the Doobie Brothers, Ziggy Marley, Ringo Starr, and the Neville Brothers. That list also includes the Rolling Stones and Jerry Lee Lewis.

Hutch used this US-made Guild bass on stage and in the studio. Knowing what paint brush to use is one of Hutch’s skills. These are rich, round and woody sounding basses. We’re proud to offer this with a personalized note from Hutch. A rather rare opportunity. Consigned, comes in its original hard case.
