1983 Gibson ES Artist
$2,950.00In stock
PRICE REDUCTION! VG+++, Antique Fireburst, nice figure on maple top and 3-piece maple neck. So, more or less an ES-335 except that it has no f-holes, gold hardware, an ebony board with offset pearl dots, bound headstock with “flying f-hole” inlay, brass “ES Artist” truss rod cover, a TP-6 tailpiece, late Nashville bridge with fully-adjustable saddles, brass nut, and Moog active electronics with compressor, expander, bright mode, and additive tone controls. Yep, nearly identical. This one is clean overall, no breaks, and plays well.Everything appears to be original save for the modern generic hard case and changed tuners but essentially the correct gold Schallers. The Moog electronics are in reasonable shape, no foam deterioration, but the expander is not currently functioning, although the rest of the active circuit and controls generally work fine. The pickups and Moog parts appear to be original but they’ve been in and out of the guitar a few times. A peculiar but rather cool specimen from the late Norlin era. Made in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
