1981 Gibson 335-S Professional Deluxe Silverburst

In stock

Fresh listing, price reduction. Mahogany neck and body in Silverburst, kind of a small flat solidbody ES-335 or a big beveled Les Paul Special depending on how you look at it, bound ebony fingerboard with pearl dots, factory brass nut, Gibson-branded tuners with metal keystone buttons, truss rod cover reads “PROFESSIONAL 335-S DELUXE”, small volute but no “Made in USA”, a pair of hot DiMarzio-esque Dirty Fingers humbuckers, Tune-o-Matic bridge with stoptail, 3-way selector, individual volume and tone for each pickup, factory coil tap. All-original, overall clean with some cosmetic wear on the back on the neck that can’t be felt, good weight at 8.5 pounds. So, Norlin was perhaps not the standard-setter for quickly responding to what the guitar-playing public wanted, preferring in many case to answer questions no one asked, but the upside is that some of the more curious models that didn’t the market on fire at the time, now seem in retrospect to be pretty neat, and this is a classic example of that. Kind of a wild time capsule, plays and sounds great of course. Made in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, comes in its original hard case.
