1976 Guild D-40NT

In stock

Natural (as the NT indicates), a classic American-made dreadnought, solid spruce top, solid mahogany neck, back (slightly arched, a Guild specialty), and sides, unbound rosewood fingerboard with small pearl dots, rosewood bridge, headstock veneer with the iconic Guild “Chesterfield” inlay, 25.5″ scale length, 1  11/16″ nut width, bound and purfled top, bound back, inlaid rosette, tortoise guard, and what industry professionals familiar with Guild call “weird ’70s tuners”, Japanese-made Grover Rotomatic-like units that actually work very well. This one has had a recent professional neck reset and has been set up, plays great, big articulate mahogany dreadnought tone, attractive nitrocellulose lacquer finish that’s aged the old-fashioned way by the actual passage of time. Some honest wear, mainly consisting of some mild checking and some dings/wear spots on the back of the neck, but overall clean and in fine structural shape. Made in Westerly, Rhode Island, USA, and comes in its original hard case with a curiously lengthy Guild manual booklet.
