1967 Martin D-28

Natural, Brazilian Rosewood, in excellent condition, just out of our shop with a fresh neck reset. There is magic in Brazilian Rosewood and every builder would use Brazilian Rosewood if they could because of the huge woody bass tone, sustain and powerful high end. And it’s so pretty.

But alas its pretty much gone. We planted a Brazilian Rosewood tree out back. Now we just have to wait 400 years, tick tock.

This D-28 has no cracks, no extra strap button on the heel and no buckle rash. It’s lacquer is yellowed in a beautiful way and it shows some wear but the more you look at it the more you can see how clean it is. Has a new pickguard and what looks like a new logo. The back of the headstock has some finish removed but not down to the bear wood. The frets are in good shape with no divots in the ebony fingerboard. This does not have the rosewood bridge plate that came in 1968.
It’s a really great sounding example that’s never had a pickup or an extra strap button. The tone? It has that deep bass and this special mid range crunch with a long sustain. This is priced below any new Brazilian Martin and it has benefited from 59 years of light use. The real vintage tone system…age. Comes with the original green lined hard case.
