1966 Epiphone FT-110 Frontier

In stock

Natural, flame maple back and sides, mahogany neck, Brazilian Rosewood board and bridge with a nice wide grained Sitka Spruce top, tear drop pickguard. Gibson used Dove maple bodies for the Frontier with 7 layers of top binding and 5 layers on back, gold Klusons and like most square shouldered Gibson flat tops they has a longer scale of 25.5” not 24 3/4”. This one has a book matched top with extra wide grain on the outside edges and beautiful tight grain at the center seam. Has bound fingerboard with the classic Epiphone slotted block pearl inlays. Came to us needing a reglued bridge and small top crack near the pickguard, now all fixed. Post ’65 nut width at 1 9/16” and a huge robust bass and nice treble. A Dove’s tone. Interesting fact: only 87 Epiphone Frontiers in natural made in 1966. So quite rare! Comes with the original hard case.
