1963 Guild Jet-Star S-50

In stock

First year of issue, solid but lightweight asymmetrical Honduran mahogany body 7.5 pounds overall), cherry finish, set Honduran mahogany neck with asymmetrical headstock, unbound 22-fret Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with pearl dots, 24.75″ scale length, 1 & 11/16″ nut width, one Guild “Frequency-Tested” single-coil pickup, Guild “integral tailpiece-bridge combination…with swing-off cover” (quoting from the catalog here). This one has some honest wear acquired over the last 58 years but no breaks, plays and sounds great, and is all-original save for added Schaller tuners. Charmingly kitschy Space-Age early ’60s design cues but the solidity of an American-made set-neck mahogany electric guitar from one of the premier manufacturers of the time. Original hard case, made in Hoboken, New Jersey.
