1948 Gretsch Synchromatic 100

From the Gretsch American Orchestra Series. Carved Adirondack spruce top, flamed maple back and sides. Original stairstep bridge matched with original nickel harp tailpiece signed “Gretsch” at bottom.  Bound neck and headstock, script logo in pearl, big and bold square inlays into Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. Three-piece maple neck, very flamed back, no top cracks, and still retains high arch. Original tuners but one button changed. Replaced pickguard the repro looks accurate in size Headstock has two screws on bass side (see photos), likely to bolster a a glued wing crack. No cracks on body. Shows some play wear, but it’s 73 years old. 16″ body, like a Gibson L-4. Old lacquer glows, fancy Art Deco adjustable bridge and the harp tailpiece is fanciful. Original black pebbled soft case.
