Amplifiers & Preamps1979 Marshall Model 4140 Club and Country

Here's a curious one. The Model 4140 "Club and Country" was Marshall's de facto answer to the silverface Twin Reverb. 100 watts from a quartet of 6550s, reverb, and two original red-frame McKenzie speakers. "McKenzie?" you ask with a puzzled expression, being clearly unfamiliar with this household name in UK loudspeaker manufacturing, the Mr. Pibb to Fane's Dr. Pepper. Oh, and to quote the hyper-British copy from a vintage Rose-Morris ad for this model, the cosmetics feature "brown oak leathercloth, with straw coloured speaker fret". In any case, it's loud, clean, and rich, and this one is in great shape and all-original. As if all that wasn't enough, it's a Canadian-market example with red warning text on the back in French. $1095
