Acoustic Flat Top1929 Martin 2-17H

This Martin 2-17 was a hawaiian guitar so really a 2-17H... but now set up to play as a regular neck.
it has just come out of our shop. It's very happy now.
It has been refretted before it got to us with standard frets, making it a standard neck.
It's very light at only 3 pounds yet it's tone blooms like only a pre war Martin can.
We had a failed bridge plate and Steve installed a nice vintage style spruce bridge plate.
We also repaired any cracks and tacked down braces as per the bosses credo.... just fix it.
A wider neck is perfect for finger style and the smaller body is in high demand these days.
The 2 size for C.F. Martin was the middle. Starting at size 1 then 1 1/2 then 2 on up to a 4.
Think of it as a style O in size.
The 2 was sold in the 20's as a "Ladies Guitar" in the Martin catalog. Jimmy Rodgers the signing brakeman
used a size 2 Martin 17 model. (The 17 means it is all Mahogany - ad $1.00 to get a Martin model 18 with spruce top.)
It have scalloped braces, ebony fret board, and ancient Honduran Mahogany. Likely a replaced ebony bridge.

This is a guitar that people will talk about for years after it sells....... it's a way cheap pre war Martin that sings.
And this one - shop checked, super light and strikingly loud - is a gem. With original pebbled soft case that is in good shape that adds
to its beguiling charm. This would be about $6K if ordered new..... seems a "pre war steal" at $2995
