Electric Semi-Hollow Body1961 Harmony Meteor

Sunburst over flame maple body. An original example with the adjustable pole piece Dearmond pickups. Same model as used by Keith Richards in the early Rolling Stone days. Made in Chicago this deluxe model had 5 layers of binding on top and the Brazilian rosewood fretboard is bound with 3. These early examples had the white knobs, nickel Grover stay tights and deeply beveled 5 layer pickguard. Its been said that Gretsch got mad at Dearmond for selling these pickups to Harmony. They sound great (listen to Rolling Stones Not Fade Away off the first record). The color is 3 tone sunburst with much of the red (an aniline dye) faded (except one spot on top and on back). Note the flame and the two tone original case. The mid 60’s version did not have adjustable pole pieces. This one is all dialed in. $1650
