Electric Solid Body1959 Gibson Les Paul

With many repairs including a new headstock from a ’53 Les Paul (just like the Paul Kossoff burst, so legendary Gibson made copies) and back and sides refinished. More details soon but a bit of history. This guitar was owned by a travelleing musician from Green Bay named Darryl St. John. Darryl bought the guitar in the mid seventies from Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick (don’t ask Rick he remembers the exchange but has had 10,000 guitars since then).

Darryl liked it because it has a smaller neck just like Jimmy Page’s ’59. Darryl’s wife Marlene included a letter of the exchange and some history of Darryl. "He played it like it should be played with high energy from New York to San Francisco." We will show photos of Darryl playing it with Neal Schon (note the curly cords) and our heroes Rick Nielsen and Tom Petersson. Also a great seventies photo of Darryl and this very guitar sitting on stage on a motorcycle.

We have other letters and photos but you get the idea. Mr. St. John was fond of playing this burst. BTW, Darryl’s son Zak is an in demand session drummer living in L.A.

Condition: We will open this soon for photos. If you know old Gibsons than you can see at a glance: new bridge, one new pickup ring (one original), changed tuners and pots. But retains original PAF pickups and is very flamey. Owner claims top finish is original, might be. Make no mistake this was used by a successful Jimmy Page fan. By the way copies of Jimmy’s #1, new guitars, sell for what this guitar goes for. Has original brown case and eighties case too. On Consignment, old wood, PAF’s and a ton of soul for $125K
