Bass1961 Fender Jazz Bass
Slab board but later (original) 3-knob variant, suburst, VG+. All-original but has seen many hundreds of gigs. We've known of this bass since the late '80s. It came to us from the 2nd owner. Electronics have never been unsoldered, the finish is very played but original, the fingerboard is the blackest Brazilian rosewood we've seen in some time and is slab-cut. It has not been refretted and the frets are worn but original (it was doing gigs earlier this year). Otherwise the wear is obvious, it's missing the mute and one one of the covers but still has the original bridge cover, it has 2 screw holes of unknown origin on the back of the body. The pickguard is original and in remarkable shape. The case is the original white tolex one, very worn but still holds the bass. Also includes the original pickup cover and mutes. This is a stunning musical instrument, quite unreal. Career-changing. Hints of flame in the neck. Waiting for its next owner...maybe you? Consigned at $12950
